"Godzilla vs the Marvel Universe"
C’est clairement l’un des crossovers les plus fun et over-the-top de ces dernières années chez Marvel (2025).
La série de six one-shots "Godzilla vs. Marvel" (mars-juillet 2025) où chaque numéro met en scène Godzilla (parfois avec d’autres kaijus Toho) contre un héros/équipe différente, dans des époques variées de l’univers Marvel.
Globalement, c’est du très bon popcorn comic :
Turn-your-brain-off, gros fun kaiju + super-héros, action démesurée, New York en ruines tous les 5 panels, et plein de moments WTF qui font sourire.
Les combats sont épiques . Gerry Duggan fait du très bon boulot sur l’humour Marvel classique ( interactions entre héros, moments absurdes genre alliance avec des vilains contre Godzilla).
L’art de Garrón est énorme pour les scènes de chaos, ça pète à l’écran.
C’est bourré de fan-service : on voit à peu près tout le monde passer (FF, Avengers, X-Men, Hulk, Spider-Man, Thor).
Certains one-shots sont inégalitaires (certains sont excellents, d’autres plus moyens ou trop team-up au lieu de vrai versus).
Godzilla vs. Thor (le dernier, par Jason Aaron et Aaron Kuder) est le meilleur de la vague. C'est épique, mythologique, avec un Godzilla ultra-brutal (inspiré de Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack), des combats cosmiques dingues, Thor en mode héroïque absolu, et un final qui claque fort.
Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four (Ryan North + John Romita Jr.) : art classique, l'implication de King Ghidorah comme heraux de Galactus.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man (Joe Kelly + Nick Bradshaw) : Fun, avec le black suit era, des vibes Secret Wars, et un God-Venom qui en jette.
Godzilla vs. Avengers : le plus faible (trop bordélique)
Godzilla vs. Hulk : pas mal
Godzilla vs. X-Men : Correct, avec une bonne twist sur les Sentinels + kaiju
