Synopsis :
- Classic X-Men reprints the initial stories of the “new” X-Men era starting with Giant Size X-Men #1, and continuing with Uncanny X-Men #94-139, but skipping issues #106 and #110.
- Issues #1-27 added up to 4 extra pages of story to the reprinted issue. Some of the pages expand the story (ie. longer fight between Phoenix and Magneto, or more character development) while others tie the story into the, at the time, current X-Men continuity (ie. Inserting Apocalypse and the Hellfire Club earlier than their original first appearances).
- Issues #1-44 also contain a back-up story mostly expanding on the reprinted story.
- Title becomes X-Men Classic with issue #46.
